Peer Review of Mumbai Coastal Road
Mumbai, India
The Mumbai Coastal Road project saw 33km with 12 planned interchanges developed across a remarkable diverse programme including under sea tunnels, reclamation, road on stilts, and sea bridges. The programme was seen as a vital step to alleviate congestion levels on the existing arterials.

Frischmann Prabhu India undertook work to meet the pioneering scale of coastal reclamation and marine tunnelling envisaged, and our recommendations in these specialised fields were decisive. Additionally, our work included modifications to lane requirements thanks to analysis of our State-of-Art Travel Demand Modelling. Traffic Dispersal Measures, the use of better geometrics, geotechnical investigations, geomorphologic and hydro-dynamic studies, and construction methodologies, as well as proposals for developing the logistic master plan were suggested.
