Lakshmi Menon

Chief Consultant - Traffic & Transportation

My journey into the fascinating world of Consulting began nearly two decades ago as a Junior Consultant at FP. I have been part of FP’s endeavors in evolving continuously to match the Traffic & Transportation needs of our society and the initiatives of various stakeholders involved in providing it. Commitment to Quality within stringent Time constraints is the hallmark of an FP employee which is imbibed from the leaders, naturally, in the process of delivering challenging projects. Multidisciplinary projects in an environment where knowledge is freely shared across various functions ensure that an employee learns and grows with his/her zeal to contribute, excel and shoulder higher responsibilities.
Being part of pioneering Transport infrastructure projects that have/are set to change the way we travel in Mumbai has been a fulfilling experience, be it the Mumbai Area Traffic Control System for MMRDA or Mumbai Coastal Road Project for MCGM or Mumbai Metro Line 3.
A mere glance at the list of highway projects we have been involved with evokes pride of having contributed to the prosperity of our nation through better roads – DPR studies of major National Highways and State Highways, traffic & safety consultancy as Authority’s engineer, Pre-bid studies for Construction firms and traffic studies as part of Financial Viability assessments for Lenders/Investors of highway projects. Currently we are also working on road safety audit projects for NHAI.
Landside Traffic &Transportation Master Plan of Airports is another arena that has honed our expertise in Transportation modelling and Planning. We have worked for six airports in India including IGIA- Delhi, CSMIA-Mumbai and KIA-Bangalore. We also worked as Technical advisor to Airport Authority of India for ten non-metro airports. Our team has carried out Traffic Impact Assessment for several ports, dry-ports, townships and other mixed-use developments. We have partnered with strategists and urban planners in providing Urban Transportation solutions. Our traffic analysis and modelling skills have also been put to good use on projects in the Middle East Countries and in the UK.
Looking back, it has been a fulfilling voyage with never a dull moment and much more to look forward to.
